Gold Digger

Story

Gold Digger The first year this wine was made, it featured fresh-picked pears from Mobridge, Pierre and Rapid City. The golden color of that first fermentation inspired the name and the use of Homestake Mine and Potato Creek Johnny imagery for the front label.

Gold Digger has been well-loved. You will find this current release a beautiful, delicate wine, perfect for summer enjoyment. Serve chilled.

This was one of the wines we purchased while on vacation in SD and love it. I will be ordering more as we are in WI and it’s a little too far to drive even for a wine this good!
Also thought the Prairie Berry winery and staff were wonderful – very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely like to go back some day.

We loved your winery and your wines. We visited South Dakota in May and spent a lovely afternoon tasting your delicious wines
We purchased several bottles, including RedAss and Gold Digger. Your staff are extremely knowledgeable and kind. Due to mobility issues I was unable to stand for tasting and they kindly brought me a stool so I could sit and enjoy the experience. Will definitely be ordering wine.

Never underestimate the power of advertising. Not one for wineries when we travel, we got tickled at the billboards for Red Ass Rhubarb wine. We located the winery and stopped in for a tasting and ended up with five bottles of wine. We especially liked the Gold Digger but purchased two others also and will reorder when our current purchase is depleted.

My mother in law brought this home from her trip and it is really GREAT! If you like sweet mellow wine, give it a try.
