Blue Suede Shoes

Story

When Ralph, our winemaker’s dad, was going to college in the 1950s in Brookings, S.D., he had a pair of blue suede shoes. He called them his shaggy dogs because the suede was so long he had to comb it.

Well, darnit, a friend introduced me to Blue Suede Shoes and I guess I am now a wine drinker. I have tried lots of wines and this honestly is the first wine that I liked from the git-go, where the top half of the glass tasted as good as the bottom.

This wine quickly became a favorite for both my husband and I. We pair this with grilled pork medallions in the Ol’ West BBQ sauce, or grilled rib eyes with my very own “Mama Dani’s Sweet and Sassy Rub”, which contains brown sugar, garlic, and cayenne (in addition to a bunch of other “nunya” ingredients). The sweetness and spice in the rub is a great complement to the sweetness of the wine. Of course, it’s just as good sipped slowly on its own!

This is truly a favorite of mine. I am so glad we stopped during a short trip through the Black Hills. I rave about it to friends and hope to get more soon.

5 star wine with a great taste from start to finish. My friend from High School helped me with our 40 yr. class Reunion, we have become good
friends and I taught her how to make Eggplant LaSagna. She bought me this Blue Sued shoes wine for Christmas. I love it and my family all
loves it too. They said have her get you 4 bottles of this next time she is in So. Dakota. She has a Home by the Winery. I just love your wines
and I will probably try all of them someday. Qudos too your Winery.

Love this wine! Took a wine tasting tour while on vacation and absolutely loved it! Once we finished our bottle at home, I kept it to ensure I could find it again. There is nothing like finding a great wine, but not remembering the name or where you purchased it. Both my husband and I both love it, most often that doesn’t happen, I like sweet and he does not, so this is a perfect blend. Thank Prairie Berry winery!

Love this wine, my only complaint is that you don’t make enough of it!
