Six wines from Prairie Berry Winery earned honors at the 2017 Jefferson Cup Invitational Wine Competition, bringing the winery’s total to 965 awards since it began entering competitions in 2001 and 27 awards so far in 2017. The Jefferson Cup is a two-day event held near Kansas City, Mo., that features entries from across the country invited as highlights of their regions and styles.
Making its competitive debut, dry red blend Jingle captured a silver medal, as did Lawrence Elk, Raspberry Honeywine, and Red Ass Rhubarb. Red Ass Rhubarb, Prairie Berry Winery’s most decorated wine, brought home its 109th medal. Cranberry and Anna Pesä Meritage 2014 captured bronze medals.
