Prairie Berry Wins Double Gold with South Dakota Grape

POSTED: JUL 04, 2007
HILL CITY, SD – Prairie Berry Winery has won another double gold medal, this time at the 2007 Tasters Guild International Wine Competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prairie Berry's 2006 vintage of Frontenac received the award. It is a semi-dry red wine made completely from South Dakota grown Frontenac grapes.

A double gold medal is awarded when all of the judges on the panel unanimously agree that it is worthy of a gold medal.

Prairie Berry is no stranger to winning awards, having received nearly 150 medals since 2001 for 31 different wines, including fruit wines, grape wines and honey wines. Located three and a half miles northeast of Hill City on Highway 385, their winery’s Tasting Room is open daily, year-round, for people to sample their award-winning wines.
